Hot Springs National Park
Known as the oldest federally protected site in the U.S., Hot Springs National Park features historic bathhouses, natural hot springs, forested hiking trails, and scenic drives. Visitors can soak in thermal waters, tour Bathhouse Row, and explore the surrounding Ouachita Mountains.

Fort Smith National Historic Site
This site preserves the remains of two frontier forts and a federal courthouse from the 1800s. Highlights include Judge Isaac Parker’s “Hell on the Border” jail, gallows, and historical walking trails along the Arkansas River.

Trail of Tears National Historic Trail
This multi-state trail commemorates the forced relocation of Native American tribes. Several interpretive sites and marked routes pass through Arkansas, including parts of the Arkansas River and key landmarks.

Butterfield Overland Trail (Proposed National Historic Trail)
