"Lights of The Bay"

[Sparse piano intro with a melancholic cello melody that builds slightly, reminiscent of a Maine coastal morning]

[Verse 1]
On a ragged cliff, where the seagulls cry
Portland Head Light reaches for the sky
Its weathered face has a stoic grace
Holding fast in endless time and space
Through the churning foam and salt-kissed air
A silent promise is whispered there
A guiding beacon through the ocean's might
Burning fiercely through the long and lonely night

[Chorus]
Lighthouse, oh lighthouse, your light leads the way
From Spring Point Ledge to the break of day
A beacon of solace, a comfort it seems
Living at the edge of our waking dreams

[Verse 2]
From ancient mariners, brave and bold
To modern ships, their stories be told
Bug Light's presence calms every fear
When tempest winds are drawing near
The whispers carry on the breeze
Of countless journeys, over the seas
A constant echo, deep and low
Where currents meet and wild winds blow

[Verse 3]
Round and round it spins its watchful eye
At Ram Island Ledge, beneath a starry sky
A silent but sturdy partner to the tide
Where secrets of the ocean deep reside
Each flash and pulse is a hopeful sign
Where death and delight intertwine
A stalwart sentinel that never sleeps
While ocean's restless rhythm keeps

[Bridge]
And though the gathering mists are gray
And all familiar landmarks can fade away
Two Lights in the distance pierce the veil
A guiding hand that will never fail
From every storm and every doubt
Even when rough seas toss us about

[Verse 4]
When dawn arrives with colors so bold
And the morning sun warms our soul
The lighthouses stand in quiet grace
Reflecting the ages in their embrace
We dream of sails upon the foam
As these stately lights guide us home
Casco Bay's guardians, ever true,
Guiding sailors on the ocean blue

[Chorus]
Lighthouse, oh lighthouse, your light leads the way
From Portland's piers toward the break of day
A beacon of solace and a comfort it seems
Standing at the edge of our waking dreams

[Outro: Piano and cello fade slowly, with a sustained, ethereal synth chord, perhaps with the gentle sound of the sea.]
